Daily life

What living here is really like

Upper Southampton — Southampton, on the mailing label — is a settled postwar suburb where the interesting lifestyle story is the old rail line: the corridor that once carried passenger trains through town is being converted to a walking and cycling trail, stitched through the township’s existing park system. Until then, Street Road handles the errands and Tamanend-era history gives the town its street names.

Schools here are Centennial (shared with Warminster), which prices the township below its Council Rock neighbor Northampton — that line on the map is one of Bucks County’s clearest school-premium comparisons. No rail commute exists today; drivers work with Street Road, County Line, and the Turnpike’s Willow Grove interchange over the county line.
